Gymboree Outlet also produced a line for the Fourth of July. We redesigned the existing boy short SKUs to be more cost-effective. As a designer, problem solving is equally crucial as the creative process. Above, the pathwork artwork was redone, and construction elements were streamlined to suit new costing guidelines.
Gymboree's summer collection was inspired by Citrus Tropical Land.My goal was to create a colorful embroidered edge motif and incorporate it into our best-selling silhouette, which in this case was the skirt on the left.
Below is an example of a millsheet with the design I developed, completed with desired colors and proportions. Once this is completed, my responsibility as a designer to revise the style in the WebPLM system for all suppliers to view.
Above is a linesheet of Gymboree’s Spring Collection for Kid Girl category. Our inspiration for this collection was based of what sold in stores the previous year and we designed new updated versions of those old graphics. In this case, we noticed that the watercolored technique and butterflies were really popular in our last years shirts. In this case, I decided to work on the butterfly graphic below and add some fun sequins into the graphic to add some richness and tridimensional feel to the design itself. Pairing this graphic with our 2-way stripe in yellow cotton jersey was a way to give it some newness and make it more fun to wear.
