I was also able to participate in the Design and Product Development of the Pets Category for Gap. Designing bedding for Gap was one of the first test products the company offered, and we saw excellent sales results. Pet bedding needed to be simple and comfortable. Meeting Gap's cost and quality demands was a top focus. My primary responsibilities included researching products, being inspired by the brand, and understanding the many materials required to provide a high-quality product. Designing around certain criteria and needs based on the sort of pet was another consideration.

Below is a key silhouette that we created for Gap's Spring/Summer collection. This style was also included in their first launch for the Pet category. Fit and comfortability were critical considerations while designing for pets. Understanding that pets have a front or ventral piece that needs to be stretchable was something to consider when designing. Constant collaboration with Technical Designers was critical in achieving the level of comfort and mobility that pets require to move about and play.
